Drug Take Back Event | On Saturday, Oct. 29, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Bellwood Police Department, 3200 Washington Blvd. in Bellwood, the Bellwood Police Department in partnership with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration will host a Drug Take Back Event. Bellwood residents can turn in unneeded and unwanted medication that will be disposed properly of in the interest of safety. Spiritual Retreat | On Saturday, Oct. 29, 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel’s Gym, 22nd Avenue and Cortez in Melrose Park, the church is hosting a spiritual retreat for the whole community, For more info, click here.

Trunk-or-Treat | On Saturday, Oct. 29, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at PLCCA, 411 W. Madison St. in Maywood, PLCCA and Riveredge Hospital will host a Trunk or Treat Community Bash featuring face painting, games, bubbles, music, a live performer and free food. For more info, click here.

Sugar Skull Crafts | On Saturday, Oct. 29, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Berkeley Public Library, 1637 N. Taft Ave. in Berkeley, the library will host its annual kids’ sugar skull craft and offer sugar skulls as a take-home craft. For more info, click here.

Church Truck-Or-Treat Event | On Saturday, Oct. 29, noon to 2 p.m., at the parking lot of Neighborhood United Methodist Church, 1817-19 Washington Blvd. in Maywood, the church will host a Trunk-or-Treat event featuring free candy and treats for all ages. For more info, call (708) 681-5887.

Atmosphere Tumbling Trunk-Or-Treat | On Saturday, Oct. 29, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., on the parking lot of the former Maywood Market, 615 S. 5th Ave. in Maywood, Atmosphere of Tumbling will present Halloween Trunk-or-Treat. For more info, click here.

Westchester Vaccine Clinic | On Tuesday, Nov. 1, 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Westchester Village Hall, 10300 W. Roosevelt Rd. in Westchester, the village will partner with Jewel Osco to host a popup vaccine clinic. Free COVID-19 Moderna, Pfizer (12 and over) and Bivalent booster shots are available. Pumpkin Smash | On Saturday, Nov. 5, 11 a.m. t0 1 p.m., at Westchester Community Church, 1840 Westchester Blvd. in Westchester, the church will host a Green Halloween Pumpkin Smash. Veterans Day Parade | On Saturday, Nov. 5, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., the village of Hillside and the Broadview/Hillside American Legion Post #626 will host their 19th Annual Veterans Day Parade. The parade will start from the parking lot of St. Domitilla Church, 4940 Washington St. in Hillside, and proceed south on Hillside Avenue to Butterfield Road, east on Butterfield Road to Wolf Road, north on Wolf Road to Washington Street, and west on Washington Street past the Hillside Veteran Memorial. Commemorate Italian-American Heritage & Culture Month | As Italian-American Heritage And Culture Month wraps up and Veterans Day (Nov. 11) lies ahead, now may be a good time to check out the offerings at the Italian American Veterans Museum located at Casa Italia, 3800 Division St. in Stone Park. The Italian American Veterans Museum will is open to the public from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. each Saturday by appointment only, according to its website. Loyola Surgical Robot Demonstration | On Wednesday, Nov. 2, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Oak Park Avenue lobby entrance of MacNeal Hospital, 3249 S. Oak Park Ave. in Berwyn, the hospital will host a demonstration in which members of the community can observe and try out the da Vinci surgical system. PTMAN Black Tie Gala | On Friday, Nov. 4, 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Reserve Twenty-Two, 485 Winchell Way in Glen Ellyn, the Proviso Township Minister Alliance Network (PTMAN) will host All That Jazz Black Tie Event.
