The new tool is powered by Artificial Intelligence and accessible 24/7 via text message, Hillside officials explained in a statement posted to its website on Nov. 14.
“To start a conversation via text message, residents can text ‘Hello’ to (833) 726-0162,” Hillside officials explained. “Here for Hillside immediately responds with a short greeting explaining the way residents can use the service and a link to sign up for text message notifications.”
Here for Hillside allows residents to “quickly and easily get answers to their questions, find information on village services, submit service requests, leave a message for staff, or sign up for text message notifications,” officials said.
“The platform was developed with the latest AI-driven chatbot technology, allowing the city to automate and scale its customer service efforts to help with the day-to-day needs of both staff and residents.”
Hillside officials said the village is the first municipality in Illinois to launch the new technology.
Hillside is just the latest Proviso Township suburb to launch cell phone-based communication systems designed to keep residents informed and connected to village services.
“People’s expectations of high-quality customer service are ever-increasing,” said Bratton Riley, CitiBot’s cofounder. “Municipalities like the Village of Hillside are leading the way by delivering powerful solutions to maximize efficiency and enhance access to information and vital services.”
